Rups Yu

Teaches: Bass Guitar

Rups teaches bass guitar at the Collingwood School of Music. Learn how to groove, and understand your instrument while learning your favourite bass lines.

Rups is a Filipino musician based in Wasaga Beach, ON since 2021. He has been playing bass professionally since 2007 and has been teaching via private lessons since 2010.

While never having been to music school, Rups was apprenticed by session musicians in his home country. His main specialties as a musician and an educator are versatility, ear training, feel, and technique.

Rups has taught complete beginners all the way to working musicians back home in Manila, Philippines, and wishes to pay it forward here in Canada.

He currently is a session bass player in the Simcoe County area and is a loving father to his son Riley.
