Jason Savery
Teaches: Guitar, Music Fundamentals for Kids, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Saxophone, Violin, Piano
Jason Savery is the owner of the Collingwood School of Music and a musician with a passion for both performing and teaching. His lessons invite students to explore their instrument, ask questions and turn new skills into music they can enjoy playing.
A 2025 and 2026 Readers' Choice Award winner in the Music Instructor category, Jason has played music for over 22 years, with experience performing in stage bands and orchestras as well as teaching. He currently plays in three bands: Tell it to Sweeny, The Wouldshed Combo and Hot Pants. He has also taught large group music classes at Little House Montessori School and the Hundred Acre Woods Forest School.
Over the years, Jason has learned to play guitar, trumpet, trombone, flute, saxophone, bassoon, cello, bass, piano and percussion. He teaches guitar, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, flute, piano and violin, and is often complimented on his patience — he's wonderful with kids, and it doesn't take long for a nervous young student to warm up to him. His teaching style varies by student, since everyone learns differently, and the most important thing is that his students enjoy their time. Starting off with a positive relationship with music is crucial to a student's development.
